Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix discovered early that she had a talent for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first trial she took, she was ranked second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by running 200m in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest to win the 200-meter race during the World Championships held in Helsinki in the year 2005. She defended her title time and time again in 2007 defeating time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three in all her competitions.
