Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002 is an American singer and rapper. The release of "Ransom," his 2019 single, has helped him become a mainstream star. His mixtape debut, We Love You Tecca (2019) included the hit single. It peaked at #4 on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the singles Love Me and Did It Again. His first studio album called Virgo World (2020) was released #10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100 charting songs "Dolly" and "When You Down". The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was released in August 2021 which included "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe is the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York City. He was raised in the Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens, but later relocated to Cedarhurst in Long Island. At a young age, Sharpe had aspirations of being a player in the NBA however, after the age of 12, he turned his attention toward pursuing a career path in music. Sharpe was a student at Lawrence High School. When Tecca was just nine years old, he adapted to his musical passion by rapping along with his friends using his Xbox. One of their tracks about diss was uploaded to SoundCloud many years ago however it has since been deleted. He initially had no plans to pursue a career in music, but he dreamed of becoming a NBA star. As he entered middle school however, he began to lose interest in basketball and began to take music seriously. The first single he released, "Tectri", which became popular in early 2017 was made in collaboration with and released by Lil Gummybear. He also dropped "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his first tracks. One year later Tecca's career started to gain momentum by releasing his smash single "Ransom" The track was released on Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22 the 22nd of May, 2019. It peaked at number 4 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was played over 900,000,000 times on Spotify and more than 300 million times on YouTube.
