Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix's athletic talent was evident right from the day she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished in second place in the 200 meters during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and signed with Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. The following year she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. She became the youngest world winner in the 200m at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She was consistently at the top of the podium in all events.
