Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on November
17, 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada Rachel Anne McAdams was the daughter of
Sandra Kay (Gale), a nurse and Lance Frederick McAdams who is an auto driver
and furniture moving company. Rachel is of English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish
descent. Rachel started acting as an teen. By the age 13 she was participating
in Shakespearean productions at summer theatre camps. After graduating, Rachel
received a BFA degree from York University in Theater. After her debut in the Disney's
The Famous Jett Jackson (1998) and co-starred on the Canadian television series
Slings and Arrows (2003), a comedy-drama about the challenges and struggles of
the Shakespearean theatre group. She also got a Gemini award for her
performance in 2003.Her breakout role as Regina George in the hit comedy Mean
Girls (2004) instantly put her on the short list of Hollywood's hottest young
actresses. Following the film, she was cast as the opposite of Ryan Gosling in
The Notebook (2004). It was a big hit in the box office and was soon the top
romantic drama for the younger generation of moviegoers. McAdams had a meeting
with Gosling while filming. They began dating until mid-2007. McAdams and
Gosling were in a relationship and started to have a relationship. After
starring in The Lucky Ones, a military drama State of Play, and The Time
Traveler's Wife (2009), McAdams appeared opposite Jude Law and Robert Downey
Jr. in Guy Ritchie's global blockbuster Sherlock Holmes. McAdams was the
determined producer for Morning Glory (2010). She also played the materialistic
fiancee Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned
to romantic dramatic territory in The Vow (2012), which she starred opposite
Channing Tatum. McAdams is also in the film with Ben Affleck in Terrence
Malick's To the Wonder (2012) and with Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's
thriller Passion (2012).In 2005, McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting
Actress of the Year" Award, as well as the "Breakthrough Actress of the
Year" at the Hollywood Film Awards
