Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American boy band
that specializes in pop music. The band was founded in 2009. The group consists
of Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow and Logan Henderson. In 2009, they signed with
Nick Records before moving to Columbia Records. The group appeared in
Nickelodeon’s TV show Big Time Rush. The show aired from the beginning of
November 28, 2009 until July 25 the 25th of July, 2013. The pilot episode
featured "Big Time Rush" the group's debut single as a promotional
track. Three studio albums were released by the group: BTR in 2010 and Elevate
(2011) as well as 24/Seven (2013). In 2014, the group was on break for an
indefinite time that lasted until 2021. The group then returned to live shows
and then released "Call it Like I See It". Nickelodeon signed Big
Time Rush a record deal in 2009 as they were simultaneously airing the
television series Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon then partnered with Columbia/Epic
Label Group in order to develop the show and provide new music. The series'
first single, "Big Time Rush" was released on the 29th of November
the 29th of November, 2009. The song was officially announced on Nickelodeon
and first aired in the U.S. November 2009 and was later broadcast across the
world. It debuted during a preview of the series. It is currently the show’s
opening theme. There were promotional singles released by the show including
"City is Ours" (with Big Time Rush) and "Any Kind of Guy".
Big Time Rush remixed "Famous" by Play. The song debuted on iTunes on
June 29th 2010. The second song, "Halfway There", was also released
on iTunes following its premiere on the series. The track quickly became the
band's first single to be charted on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number
93 thanks to digital sales. The second single from Big Time Rush, "Till
You Forget About You" was released on the 21st of September in 2010. The
purpose of the release was to announce their debut album. On the 11th of
October, 2010 the album, dubbed BTR, was made available to the public. The
album debuted at the top of three on the Billboard 200. It sold an initial
67,000 copies.
