Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977, in Miami, Florida. He is an American electro house artist recording producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third of Chizuru and Rocky Aoki's kids. His father was a former wrestler who also helped develop the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older brothers: Kana (sometimes known as Grace), and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, where he was part of the varsity badminton team. He went to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a 2nd B.A. He received two degrees in sociology, and another in feminist studies. He produced DIY records and also hosted underground music events in his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative while in college. The Pickle Patch was born as a concert venue. He was also active in student activism at UCSB. He established an organization called the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. By his early 20s, he had built his own label that was named Dim Mak, a reference to the idol of his youth Bruce Lee. He dropped I'm IN THE HOUSE in the year 2000, which was a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq alter ego of will.i.am. The track made it to No. 29 in the U.K. Singles Chart in the first week of its release. The song was ranked in the top five in both the U.K. Indie Chart and the U.K. Dance Chart. The track was featured on the MTV series Jersey Shore. It also made an appearance in Piranha, the feature film Piranha, and the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer-songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a May 2010 interview w/ HitQuarters, that he and Rivers Cuomo had recently worked w/ Aoki on an album. Pollstar has named him the highest-grossing North America dance artist from tours in 2012 He has worked with artists like Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He is famous for remixing artists like Kid Cudi.
