Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is well-known for his hard-edged characters and wisecracking characters in action films. Together, they've been featured in films grossing more than $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955 in the city of Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of whom were living on an United States military base. The family moved to the U.S. shortly after he was born, and he was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother worked in a bank, while his father was a welding as well as a factory worker. Willis began to take an interest in drama arts at high school. He was "discovered" as a bartender in the cafe in a New York City cafe. In the following years, he appeared in various off-Broadway productions. One night, Willis was serving drinks and was noticed by a casting manager who liked his style of work. He needed a bartender to play an unimportant role in a film. Willis was a candidate for a variety of roles in films however, he wasn't given credit. He finally got the role of David Addison, a private investigator, playing Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy show Moonlighting (1985). The sly and wise-cracking P.I. Many view it as an opportunity to practice to prepare for Willis the role he played in Die Hard (1988), in which he fought an international gang of thieves at an Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die Hard 2 (1990) Willis reprised his character. A group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers is trying to restore a corrupt South American general. They are set in Washington's Dulles International Airport. The success of the film at the box office prompted a further sequel Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) with a new co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as a cynical Harlem shop owner who has been sucked into assisting McClane during a terrorist attack campaign during a hot day in New York.
